PGIMER Chandigarh Faces Severe Parking Crunch With 13,000 Cars Vying For 3,900 Slots Daily

PGIMER is grappling with a significant parking shortage, as over 13,000 cars enter daily against just 3,900 available slots. Despite ongoing construction of a new multi-level facility, several designated parking areas on campus remain unpaved and underutilised, worsening congestion for patients, visitors, and staff. Neglected sites, including the dental parking area and a zone behind the Neuroscience Centre, are inaccessible or cause traffic blockages. PGIMER has stated that the tendering process for levelling and formalising these areas is underway.

PGIMER में पार्किंग की भारी कमी है, क्योंकि रोज़ 13,000 से ज़्यादा गाड़ियाँ आती हैं जबकि सिर्फ 3,900 ही जगहें हैं। नई मल्टी-लेवल पार्किंग की सुविधा बन रही है, लेकिन कैंपस में कई पार्किंग की जगहें कच्ची हैं और ठीक से इस्तेमाल नहीं हो रही हैं, जिससे मरीज़ों, मिलने वालों और स्टाफ़ के लिए भीड़ बढ़ रही है। डेंटल पार्किंग और न्यूरोसाइंस सेंटर के पीछे की जगह जैसी उपेक्षित साइटें पहुँच से बाहर हैं या ट्रैफिक जाम करती हैं। PGIMER ने कहा है कि इन जगहों को पक्का करने और ठीक करने के लिए टेंडर प्रक्रिया चल रही है।
