Times of India · interesting

A scarce first edition hardcover of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', originally printed in 1997 with only 500 copies made, has sold for $400,000 at auction in Dallas. Most of these initial copies were distributed to libraries, making surviving examples with original printing errors highly sought after. This particular copy featured misspellings like 'Philospher's' and listed the author as 'Joanne Rowling'. While a significant sum, it did not surpass the record of $471,000 set in 2021 for a similar edition.
