BIS Certification Mandatory For Smartphone Screen Protectors

The Indian government has mandated Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for smartphone screen protectors, effective April 1, 2027. This regulation requires regulatory approval before these products can be sold in India. The move aims to prevent the sale of low-quality screen protectors and support domestic manufacturers. Smartphone screen protectors are the 66th item to be brought under this compulsory registration order, joining other electronics like smartphones and laptops.

भारत सरकार ने 1 अप्रैल 2027 से स्मार्टफोन स्क्रीन प्रोटेक्टर्स के लिए BIS सर्टिफिकेशन अनिवार्य कर दिया है। अब इन उत्पादों को भारत में बेचने से पहले सरकारी मंजूरी लेनी होगी। इसका मकसद घटिया क्वालिटी के स्क्रीन प्रोटेक्टर्स की बिक्री रोकना और घरेलू निर्माताओं को बढ़ावा देना है। स्मार्टफोन और लैपटॉप जैसे अन्य इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स के साथ, स्मार्टफोन स्क्रीन प्रोटेक्टर्स इस अनिवार्य पंजीकरण आदेश के तहत आने वाली 66वीं वस्तु बन गई हैं।
