JNU to Confer 'Professor Emeritus' Title On Amitabh Mattoo Post Retirement

Jawaharlal Nehru University's Executive Council has decided to confer the title 'Professor Emeritus' upon Amitabh Mattoo, Dean of the School of International Studies, who is seeking voluntary retirement. The title will be effective after his retirement on February 28, 2027. Mattoo, a Padma Shri awardee and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jammu, has been a significant figure at JNU. He expressed deep gratitude, calling JNU his intellectual home and a crucible of his ideas. JNU currently has 16 professors holding this esteemed title.

जेएनयू से रिटायरमेंट के बाद अमिताभ मट्टू को मिलेगा 'प्रोफेसर एमरिटस' का सम्मान

जवाहरलाल नेहरू यूनिवर्सिटी (जेएनयू) की एग्जीक्यूटिव काउंसिल ने स्कूल ऑफ इंटरनेशनल स्टडीज के डीन अमिताभ मट्टू को स्वैच्छिक सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद 'प्रोफेसर एमरिटस' का खिताब देने का फैसला किया है। यह सम्मान उन्हें 28 फरवरी 2027 को रिटायर होने के बाद मिलेगा। अमिताभ मट्टू, जो पद्म श्री से सम्मानित हैं और जम्मू यूनिवर्सिटी के पूर्व वाइस-चांसलर भी रह चुके हैं, जेएनयू में एक अहम शख्सियत रहे हैं। उन्होंने जेएनयू को अपना बौद्धिक घर और विचारों का उद्गम स्थल बताते हुए गहरी कृतज्ञता व्यक्त की। फिलहाल जेएनयू में 16 प्रोफेसर इस प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान को धारण करते हैं।
