His statement follows the judicial custody of CJP co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka for breaching the protest site. Gandhi condemned the jailing of youth for such actions, calling it cowardly. He asserted that all protests are united in citizens demanding their constitutional rights and vowed to reclaim Jantar Mantar for the people.

विपक्ष के नेता राहुल गांधी ने कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) का समर्थन किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि जंतर-मंतर पर भारतीय झंडे के साथ शांतिपूर्ण विरोध करना कोई अपराध नहीं है। यह बयान CJP के सह-संयोजकों सौरव दास और आशुतोष रंका को विरोध स्थल का उल्लंघन करने के आरोप में न्यायिक हिरासत में भेजे जाने के बाद आया है। गांधी ने ऐसे कार्यों के लिए युवाओं को जेल भेजने की निंदा की और इसे कायरतापूर्ण बताया। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि सभी विरोध प्रदर्शन नागरिकों द्वारा अपने संवैधानिक अधिकारों की मांग में एकजुट हैं और उन्होंने जंतर-मंतर को लोगों के लिए वापस लेने का संकल्प लिया।
