The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized approximately 480 grams of gold, valued at around Rs 68 lakh, from a passenger at Surat International Airport. The passenger, identified as Mahommad Arif Patel from Bharuch, had arrived from Dubai on an IndiGo flight. DRI officials acted on specific intelligence inputs to intercept and search Patel's luggage, recovering the gold. The agency is now investigating potential links to organised smuggling syndicates and examining the methods used for concealment and transport.

डायरेक्टरेट ऑफ रेवेन्यू इंटेलिजेंस (DRI) ने सुरत इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट पर एक यात्री से करीब 480 ग्राम सोना जब्त किया है, जिसकी कीमत लगभग 68 लाख रुपये है। यह यात्री भरूच का रहने वाला मोहम्मद आरिफ पटेल है, जो दुबई से IndiGo की फ्लाइट से आया था। DRI अधिकारियों को खास खुफिया जानकारी मिली थी, जिसके आधार पर उन्होंने पटेल के सामान की तलाशी ली और सोना बरामद किया। एजेंसी अब संगठित तस्करी गिरोहों से संभावित संबंधों की जांच कर रही है और सोने को छिपाने और ले जाने के तरीकों की भी पड़ताल कर रही है।
