Textile Industry Flags Yarn Price Hike, GST Refund Issues to Minister Giriraj Singh

Surat's textile industry representatives met Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday to voice concerns over rising yarn prices and pending GST refunds. Industry leaders reported that yarn prices have surged by up to 66%, forcing many units to consider extended Diwali shutdowns. They also highlighted unresolved GST refund issues for the jari industry, amounting to approximately Rs 18 crore monthly over three years. The minister assured the delegation that necessary actions would be taken promptly to address these critical issues impacting the sector's viability.

शुक्रवार को सूरत के कपड़ा उद्योग के प्रतिनिधियों ने केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह से मुलाकात की और धागे की बढ़ती कीमतों और लंबित GST रिफंड को लेकर अपनी चिंताएं व्यक्त कीं। उद्योग के नेताओं ने बताया कि धागे की कीमतों में 66% तक की बढ़ोतरी हुई है, जिससे कई इकाइयां दिवाली पर लंबे समय तक शटडाउन पर विचार कर रही हैं। उन्होंने जरी उद्योग के लिए 3 साल से लंबित GST रिफंड के मुद्दों को भी उजागर किया, जो हर महीने लगभग 18 करोड़ रुपये हैं। मंत्री ने प्रतिनिधिमंडल को आश्वासन दिया कि इस क्षेत्र की व्यवहार्यता को प्रभावित करने वाले इन महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों को तुरंत हल करने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाए जाएंगे।
