Around 400 prisoners in Lebanon's Roumieh prison have been on a hunger strike for over two weeks, leading to dire medical conditions. Lawyer Mohammed Sablouh stated that ambulances are called daily to transport inmates due to their deteriorating health. The prisoners are protesting the suspension of a general amnesty law that could have led to their release or reduced sentences. This protest highlights the severe overcrowding in Lebanese prisons, which are operating at nearly double their capacity, and the ongoing issues with judicial delays.
