His company, Fairfax Financial Holdings, will purchase a 60.72% stake in the Indian bank. Watsa, an Indian-origin industrialist who moved to Canada in the 1970s, built Fairfax from a small insurance company into a financial giant. He is known for his value investing principles, focusing on fundamentally strong companies trading below their intrinsic value. This deal marks India's largest cross-border banking transaction.
