ED has alleged that Octave Records, a company run by singer Indranil Sen, paid approximately Rs 30 lakh to former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The ED is investigating Sen in connection with a Rs 60 crore Durga Puja pass scam. Sen's organization reportedly transferred the funds as royalty for Banerjee's books, lyrics, and music compositions. Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh dismissed the allegations, stating the payments were legitimate royalty for popular songs, made through banking channels after tax deductions and declared in income tax returns.
