Delhi Police Cites CJP's History of Violence in Denying March Permission
Hindustan Times · politics
Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar defended the denial of permission for the CJP October 10 march, citing the organization's history of mob violence and property destruction. In a Supreme Court affidavit, Kumar stated that CJP's past actions, including an unauthorized July 20 march, justified preventive detentions and restrictions. The police argued that allowing the march would have risked public disorder and harm to persons and property. This response aims to discharge contempt notices issued over protest restrictions.
