They specifically criticize the Election Commission's voter-list revision process, claiming it unfairly benefits Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP. The CJP has urged other opposition parties to boycott these elections and threatened nationwide protests starting October 2. They accuse the Chief Election Commissioner of undermining democracy and demand his resignation. Two petitions challenging the voter roll process have also been filed in the Bombay High Court.
