Sri Lankan opposition MP Namal Rajapaksa has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate's Court in a bribery case related to a proposed hotel project. The court cited the health of his parents as a special circumstance for granting bail. However, Rajapaksa will continue to be held in custody as he faces separate charges in another case involving alleged bribery and money laundering in SriLankan Airlines' acquisition of Airbus aircraft. The hotel project, estimated at over USD 750 million, remains stalled.
