Report: 46% Lack Emergency Funds, 60% Low Health

Business Standard · business

A recent survey by Finnovate Financial Services reveals significant financial vulnerabilities among respondents. Nearly half, 46%, reported having less than three months of expenses saved for emergencies, leaving them exposed to financial shocks like job loss or medical bills. Furthermore, 60% of families have less than Rs 25 lakh in health insurance cover, a figure potentially insufficient given medical inflation. The survey also highlighted gaps in savings, debt management, and investment planning, indicating that regular saving doesn't always equate to adequate financial resilience.
