Amazon Prime Refunds: Millions To Receive Up To $200

Amazon has begun issuing refunds to millions of Prime customers as part of a $2.5 billion settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The settlement addresses allegations that Amazon enrolled customers without consent and hindered cancellations. A revised court order now allows more customers to qualify for refunds, increasing the maximum payment from $51 to $200. Payments started rolling out automatically on October 1, 2026, and eligible customers do not need to file a claim. Amazon has already paid over $845 million to consumers under the original settlement terms.

अमेज़न ने अमेरिकी फेडरल ट्रेड कमीशन (FTC) के साथ 2.5 अरब डॉलर के समझौते के तहत लाखों प्राइम ग्राहकों को रिफंड देना शुरू कर दिया है। यह समझौता इस आरोप से जुड़ा है कि अमेज़न ग्राहकों को बिना सहमति के साइन-अप कराता था और कैंसिलेशन को मुश्किल बनाता था। एक संशोधित कोर्ट ऑर्डर के तहत अब ज़्यादा ग्राहक रिफंड के लिए योग्य होंगे, जिसमें अधिकतम भुगतान 51 डॉलर से बढ़ाकर 200 डॉलर कर दिया गया है। भुगतान 1 अक्टूबर, 2026 से अपने आप शुरू हो गए हैं और योग्य ग्राहकों को कोई क्लेम फाइल करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। अमेज़न ने मूल समझौते के तहत पहले ही उपभोक्ताओं को 845 मिलियन डॉलर से ज़्यादा का भुगतान कर दिया है।
