Kolab Reservoir Water Level Rises Sharply After Rain

Incessant rains have caused the water level in the Kolab reservoir to rise by 1.56 metres in just three days. The live storage increased significantly, though the reservoir remains below its full capacity. Officials are hopeful that continued rainfall will further boost the water storage. This improvement is expected to benefit irrigation for approximately 42,500 hectares during kharif and 25,000 hectares during rabi seasons, and also support hydropower generation.

बारिश के बाद कोलाब जलाशय का जलस्तर तेजी से बढ़ा

कोलाब बांध में लगातार बारिश से तीन दिन में ही जलस्तर 1.56 मीटर बढ़ गया है। बांध की लाइव स्टोरेज में काफी बढ़ोतरी हुई है, हालांकि यह अभी भी पूरी क्षमता से नीचे है। अधिकारियों को उम्मीद है कि बारिश जारी रहने से पानी का भंडारण और बढ़ेगा। इससे खरीफ में करीब 42,500 हेक्टेयर और रबी में 25,000 हेक्टेयर सिंचाई में मदद मिलेगी, साथ ही बिजली उत्पादन भी बढ़ेगा।
