One hundred women in Khowai, Tripura, once called 'kachrawala', have revolutionized the town's waste management. They now run operations as owners of the 'Khowai Waste to Wealth Producer Society', a cooperative inspired by an IAS officer's question about worker exploitation. This initiative has eliminated overflowing bins and improved sanitation workers' dignity and control over their work, transforming their lives and the town's environment.
