Michael Hussey: Youngsters Must Earn Baggy Green Cap

NDTV Sports · sports

Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey has cautioned against rushing young talent into the national Test side. He emphasized that Test cricket is not a platform to simply introduce new players, but rather a format where the prestigious Baggy Green cap must be earned through merit. Hussey believes that the current ageing Australian team needs experienced players, and any new inclusions should demonstrate they are ready for the demands of the longest format of the game. This approach ensures the integrity and competitiveness of Australian Test cricket.
