Punjab High Court Issues Notice Over Road Works Transfer to Mandi Board

The PIL claims that tendering and contract awards occurred before the formal transfer of 10 market committees. The petitioner seeks an inquiry into the decision-making process and execution of these works. Concerns were raised about the Mandi Board's authority and alleged duplicate tendering by both departments for the same projects.

पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने पंजाब सरकार को एक जनहित याचिका के संबंध में नोटिस जारी किया है। याचिका में लोक निर्माण विभाग (PWD) से पंजाब मंडी बोर्ड को सड़क कार्यों के हस्तांतरण में अनियमितताओं का आरोप लगाया गया है। याचिकाकर्ता का दावा है कि 10 मार्केट कमेटियों के औपचारिक हस्तांतरण से पहले ही टेंडरिंग और अनुबंध प्रदान कर दिए गए थे। याचिकाकर्ता इन कार्यों की निर्णय लेने की प्रक्रिया और निष्पादन की जांच की मांग कर रहा है। मंडी बोर्ड के अधिकार और दोनों विभागों द्वारा एक ही परियोजनाओं के लिए कथित तौर पर डुप्लीकेट टेंडरिंग पर चिंता जताई गई थी।
