A Hezbollah lawmaker stated that hundreds of kilograms of explosives seized by Lebanese security forces last week belonged to his group. He claimed the explosives were intended for use against Israel, not for domestic attacks as initially feared. Lebanese authorities had stopped a vehicle carrying the explosives in the eastern Bekaa region and arrested two individuals. This acknowledgement comes amid ongoing government efforts to bring all arms in Lebanon under state control, a move Hezbollah has resisted.
