Cyclone Murasu Weakens to Deep Depression, Bringing More Rain to Andhra Pradesh

Cyclone Murasu has weakened into a deep depression over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana, moving northwards. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts it will further weaken into a low-pressure area within 12 hours. The cyclone caused significant destruction, claiming two lives and damaging over 52,000 hectares of crops and more than 300 houses. Power infrastructure was also severely impacted, with thousands of trees uprooted and electricity poles damaged. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 4.
