Calcutta HC to hear plea against BJP candidate

The Calcutta High Court will hear a petition seeking the disqualification of BJP’s Nandigram candidate Hasirani Rath. The plea alleges Rath provided incorrect age and educational details in her election affidavit, claiming she passed Class 10 in 1965 at around six years old. The BJP stated the 1965 reference was a typographical error, providing a certificate showing her birth date as June 8, 1965.
