Jamia University Forms 7-Member Panel Amid Student Hunger Strike For Union Elections

Students at Jamia Millia Islamia continue their hunger strike demanding the restoration of student union elections. Following a previous attempt to forcibly remove protestors, which escalated tensions, the university administration has announced the formation of a seven-member high-level committee. This committee will engage in dialogue with the protesting students, investigate their demands, and work towards restoring normalcy on campus. Jamia has not held student union elections since 2006, when they were dissolved due to incidents of violence and disruption.

जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया के छात्र छात्र संघ चुनाव बहाल करने की मांग को लेकर भूख हड़ताल जारी रखे हुए हैं। प्रदर्शनकारियों को जबरन हटाने के पिछले प्रयास के बाद तनाव बढ़ गया था, जिसके बाद विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन ने सात सदस्यीय उच्च-स्तरीय समिति के गठन की घोषणा की है। यह समिति आंदोलनकारी छात्रों के साथ बातचीत करेगी, उनकी मांगों की जांच करेगी और परिसर में सामान्य स्थिति बहाल करने की दिशा में काम करेगी। जामिया में 2006 से छात्र संघ चुनाव नहीं हुए हैं, जब हिंसा और व्यवधान की घटनाओं के कारण उन्हें भंग कर दिया गया था।
