The Hindu · india
Kerala Devaswom Minister K. Muraleedharan announced that the Malabar Devaswom Board will be granted full institutional autonomy, similar to the Cochin and Travancore Devaswom Boards. Currently, the board lacks powers, with trustees managing its affairs. The state government plans to enact a law to empower the board and establish a headquarters in Kozhikode. This move has reportedly concerned some trustees who fear losing administrative control and may approach the courts. The minister also assured arrangements for a smooth Sabarimala pilgrimage season.
