Punjab ASI Caught Planting Drugs on CCTV, Suspended; SIT Probe Ordered

An Assistant Sub-Inspector in Punjab has been suspended and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe ordered after CCTV footage allegedly showed him planting drugs at the home of a Shiv Sena leader. The footage appears to show the plainclothes officer hiding a package under a mattress before uniformed police entered to "seize" it. The drug-accused individual has been discharged, and the police officer suspended with immediate effect. Authorities emphasized the Punjab Police's accountability and zero-tolerance stance against corruption and misconduct, especially in the ongoing war against drugs.

पंजाब में एक असिस्टेंट सब-इंस्पेक्टर को शिव सेना नेता के घर पर ड्रग्स लगाते हुए कथित तौर पर सीसीटीवी फुटेज में दिखाए जाने के बाद निलंबित कर दिया गया है और एक स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम (SIT) जांच के आदेश दिए गए हैं। फुटेज में सादे कपड़ों वाला अधिकारी वर्दीधारी पुलिस के "जब्त" करने के लिए प्रवेश करने से पहले गद्दे के नीचे एक पैकेट छिपाता हुआ दिखाई दे रहा है। ड्रग्स के आरोपी व्यक्ति को बरी कर दिया गया है, और पुलिस अधिकारी को तत्काल प्रभाव से निलंबित कर दिया गया है। अधिकारियों ने ड्रग्स के खिलाफ चल रही लड़ाई में जवाबदेही और भ्रष्टाचार तथा कदाचार के खिलाफ शून्य-सहिष्णुता रुख पर पंजाब पुलिस के जोर पर जोर दिया।
