The Andhra Pradesh government has increased diet charges for students in BC welfare hostels and residential schools, effective. Monthly charges for Classes 3-6 rose from ₹1,150 to ₹1,265, while Classes 7-10 increased from ₹1,400 to ₹1,600. Intermediate and higher classes will now pay ₹1,800, up from ₹1,600. BC Welfare minister S Savita stated the enhanced charges will fund better quality, more nutritious food, including eggs six days a week, chicken thrice weekly, milk, fruit, and millet-based items. This move aims to improve student nutrition and academic performance.

आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने बीसी कल्याण छात्रावासों और आवासीय विद्यालयों में छात्रों के लिए खान-पान शुल्क बढ़ा दिया है। कक्षा 3-6 के लिए मासिक शुल्क ₹1,150 से बढ़कर ₹1,265 हो गया है, जबकि कक्षा 7-10 के लिए यह ₹1,400 से बढ़कर ₹1,600 हो गया है। इंटरमीडिएट और उच्च कक्षाओं के लिए अब ₹1,600 के बजाय ₹1,800 का भुगतान करना होगा। बीसी कल्याण मंत्री एस सविता ने कहा कि बढ़े हुए शुल्क से बेहतर गुणवत्ता वाला, अधिक पौष्टिक भोजन उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा, जिसमें सप्ताह में छह दिन अंडे, सप्ताह में तीन बार चिकन, दूध, फल और बाजरा आधारित चीजें शामिल होंगी। इस कदम का उद्देश्य छात्रों के पोषण और शैक्षणिक प्रदर्शन में सुधार करना है।
