The arrests follow allegations that Kumar, while posted in Pune, accepted illegal gratification from private parties for extending official favours. Searches at the accused's premises in Pune, Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Delhi resulted in the recovery of ₹1.73 crore in cash and approximately ₹50 lakh more, along with incriminating documents. The investigation aims to curb corruption within defence sector enterprises.

केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (CBI) ने रिश्वतखोरी के मामले में मुनिशन इंडिया लिमिटेड (MIL) के कार्यकारी निदेशक अनिल कुमार को दो निजी व्यक्तियों के साथ गिरफ्तार किया है। ये गिरफ्तारियां इस आरोप के बाद हुई हैं कि पुणे में तैनात कुमार ने निजी पक्षों से अवैध रिश्वत स्वीकार की थी ताकि उन्हें आधिकारिक पक्ष मिल सके। पुणे, मैसूरु, बेंगलुरु और दिल्ली में आरोपियों के ठिकानों पर तलाशी के दौरान ₹1.73 करोड़ नकद और लगभग ₹50 लाख और बरामद हुए, साथ ही आपत्तिजनक दस्तावेज भी मिले। इस जांच का उद्देश्य रक्षा क्षेत्र के उपक्रमों में भ्रष्टाचार को रोकना है।
