Kochi Air Quality Stations Non-Functional Due to Expired Maintenance Contracts

Real-time air pollution monitoring stations in Kerala's Vyttila and Kaloor are non-functional because their annual maintenance contracts expired in October 2023. The Kerala State Pollution Control Board is facing challenges in obtaining real-time air quality data for Kochi city. While the Eloor station is functional, its contract also expired a year ago. The board is in the process of re-tendering for maintenance contracts, with agencies shortlisted and discussions underway to finalise agreements soon. Manual testing is currently being conducted.

केरल के वायत्तिला और काल्लूर में रियल-टाइम वायु प्रदूषण निगरानी स्टेशन अक्टूबर 2023 में वार्षिक रखरखाव अनुबंध समाप्त होने के कारण काम नहीं कर रहे हैं। केरल राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड कोच्चि शहर के लिए रियल-टाइम वायु गुणवत्ता डेटा प्राप्त करने में चुनौतियों का सामना कर रहा है। जबकि एलूर स्टेशन चालू है, उसका अनुबंध भी एक साल पहले समाप्त हो गया था। बोर्ड रखरखाव अनुबंधों के लिए फिर से निविदा प्रक्रिया में है, जिसमें एजेंसियों को शॉर्टलिस्ट किया गया है और जल्द ही समझौतों को अंतिम रूप देने के लिए चर्चा चल रही है। वर्तमान में मैन्युअल परीक्षण किया जा रहा है।
