Karnataka HC Halts Salary Withholding for Contract Staff

The Karnataka High Court has stayed government circulars that directed authorities to withhold salaries for outsourced, contract, and daily wage employees based on revised minimum wages. The court issued an interim order, halting the operation of these directives until further notice. Petitioners argued that the circulars, which sought to revert payments to pre-revision levels, lacked legal authority and infringed upon employees' vested rights to minimum wages.

कर्नाटक हाई कोर्ट ने सरकारी आदेशों पर रोक लगा दी है। इन आदेशों में आउटसोर्स, कॉन्ट्रैक्ट और दैनिक वेतन भोगी कर्मचारियों के संशोधित न्यूनतम मजदूरी के आधार पर वेतन रोकने को कहा गया था। कोर्ट ने अंतरिम आदेश जारी कर इन निर्देशों पर फिलहाल रोक लगा दी है। याचिकाकर्ताओं का कहना था कि ये आदेश अवैध हैं और कर्मचारियों के न्यूनतम मजदूरी के अधिकार का उल्लंघन करते हैं।
