Andhra Pradesh officials have accused Odisha authorities of preventing census data collection in the disputed Kotia group of villages. Odisha officials have reportedly stopped Andhra Pradesh staff from gathering information from residents in the 28 revenue villages within the Kotia cluster. The Odisha police have also allegedly filed cases against villagers who cooperated with the Andhra Pradesh census team. This escalation follows the removal of solar panels installed by the Andhra Pradesh government, sparking a fresh territorial dispute between the two states.
