Election Commissioners Flag Officer's Actions Regarding IT Wing Oversight to Cabinet Secretary

Two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, have written to Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan regarding alleged misconduct by senior deputy election commissioner Maneesh Garg. Their letters, identical in language, question Garg's decision to remove oversight into the working of the Election Commission's director general of IT, Seema Khanna. They argue that routing Khanna's files through a deputy EC, Sanjay Kumar, provided necessary oversight of the electoral process. Kumar has since been repatriated, and Garg now handles those responsibilities, meaning Khanna's files are routed through him.
