Lord Jagannath Undergoes Health Checkup Before Rath Yatra

Ahead of the annual Rath Yatra festival, priests conducted a 'health checkup' for Lord Jagannath at the Puri Jagannath Temple in Odisha. This ritual, known as 'Netra Utsav' or 'Chaka Bije', is performed to signify the deities' recovery after the 'Anavasara' period, a time when they are believed to be unwell.

ओडिशा के पुरी जगन्नाथ मंदिर में वार्षिक रथ यात्रा से पहले, पुजारियों ने भगवान जगन्नाथ का 'स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण' किया। इस अनुष्ठान को 'नेत्र उत्सव' या 'चका बिजे' कहते हैं। यह इसलिए किया जाता है ताकि यह दिखाया जा सके कि देवता 'अनवसर' अवधि के बाद ठीक हो गए हैं, जब माना जाता है कि वे अस्वस्थ थे।
