Tulane Students Discover Potential New Human Muscle Attachment

Tulane University students may have identified a previously unknown muscle attachment in the human body. While studying donated cadavers, undergraduate students noticed an unusual structure deep inside the pelvis, near the hip. Further investigation involving 200 additional specimens revealed the attachment was present in 28% of cases examined. Researchers have described this as the iliac attachment of the psoas major, a muscle involved in hip movement. This discovery could alter current understanding of human anatomical variations and impact medical practices.
