Farmers To Block Pune-Bengaluru Highway Tomorrow Over Sugar MSP Delay

Sugarcane farmers have called for a 'rasta roko' protest on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway on Saturday. They are demonstrating against the delayed revision of the Minimum Selling Price for sugar and the Ramesh Chand panel's failure to consult with farmers at the protest site. Farmers are demanding a revised MSP of ₹60 per kg of sugar and other price revisions for sugarcane. They previously postponed a Karnataka bandh after the committee's scheduled visit. Over one lakh farmers are participating in the ongoing protest.

गन्ने के किसानों ने शनिवार को पुणे-बेंगलुरु नेशनल हाईवे पर 'रास्ता रोको' आंदोलन का आह्वान किया है। वे चीनी के न्यूनतम बिक्री मूल्य (एमएसपी) में देरी और रमेश चंद पैनल की किसानों से विरोध स्थल पर सलाह-मशविरा करने में विफलता के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। किसान चीनी के ₹60 प्रति किलो के संशोधित एमएसपी और गन्ने के लिए अन्य मूल्य संशोधनों की मांग कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने समिति की निर्धारित यात्रा के बाद पहले कर्नाटक बंद स्थगित कर दिया था। एक लाख से अधिक किसान मौजूदा विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग ले रहे हैं।
