UK and France End One-Year Deal on Returning Channel Migrants

A year-old agreement between the United Kingdom and France to return migrants who illegally cross the English Channel in small boats has concluded. The deal was initially established under former UK prime minister Keir Starmer last year. Its aim was to ease tensions between the two neighbouring countries and facilitate a post-Brexit reset. The UK interior ministry confirmed the end of this arrangement on Wednesday.
