Maharashtra Government Plans Third Airport for Mumbai Metropolitan Region by 2035

The Maharashtra government has set a 2035 deadline for completing a new international airport at Vadhavan in Palghar district, which will be the third airport serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). A consultant has been appointed to conduct a detailed techno-economic feasibility study and oversee the bidding process for the greenfield offshore airport. The study will forecast traffic up to 2071 and analyze the impact of existing airports and regional economic growth. The master plan will also determine the airport's offshore configuration and required onshore infrastructure.

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने पालघर जिले के वधावन में एक नए अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे को 2035 तक पूरा करने की समय सीमा तय की है, जो मुंबई मेट्रोपॉलिटन रीजन (MMR) को सेवा देने वाला तीसरा हवाई अड्डा होगा। एक सलाहकार को विस्तृत टेक्नो-इकोनॉमिक व्यवहार्यता अध्ययन करने और ग्रीनफील्ड ऑफशोर हवाई अड्डे के लिए बोली प्रक्रिया की देखरेख करने के लिए नियुक्त किया गया है। अध्ययन 2071 तक यातायात का पूर्वानुमान लगाएगा और मौजूदा हवाई अड्डों और क्षेत्रीय आर्थिक विकास के प्रभाव का विश्लेषण करेगा। मास्टर प्लान हवाई अड्डे के ऑफशोर कॉन्फ़िगरेशन और आवश्यक ऑनशोर बुनियादी ढांचे का भी निर्धारण करेगा।
