Supreme Court Seeks ED Response On Realty Promoter's Bail Plea

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the ED seeking its response on a bail plea filed by Anil Mithas, promoter of a Noida-based real estate company. Mithas is accused of diverting ₹126.30 crore collected from homebuyers for the Aranya project, leading to money laundering proceedings. The Allahabad High Court had previously rejected his bail application on September 16, citing the pervasive nature of white-collar crime and the significant amount allegedly diverted. Mithas was taken into custody on April 16, 2025, following FIRs for cheating and fraud.
