A tragic incident occurred in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Sathya Sai district where five women lost their lives after drowning in a pond. The deceased, who were neighbours and relatives, were enjoying the Dussehra holidays. The women, identified as Gayatri, her daughter Ashwini, and neighbours Pushpa, Haseena, and Maheen, were residents of the Durgaipet area. They had gone for a stroll to the Gollapalli pond near Penukonda when they slipped and fell into deep water. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences to the affected families.
