Madras HC Dismisses Ex-Minister's Election Plea

The Madras High Court has dismissed an election petition filed by former DMK minister K R Periyakaruppan. He had challenged the election of TVK MLA R Seenivasa Sethupathi in the Tirupattur assembly constituency, who won by a single vote. Periyakaruppan alleged a postal vote was wrongly sent and cancelled. Sethupathi's plea to reject the petition was allowed by Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan. Sethupathi secured 83,375 votes, while Periyakaruppan received 83,374 votes, losing by a narrow margin.

मद्रास हाईकोर्ट ने पूर्व DMK मंत्री के आर पेरियाकरुप्पन द्वारा दायर एक चुनाव याचिका खारिज कर दी है। उन्होंने तिरुपत्तूर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से TVK MLA आर सीनिवासा सेथुपति के चुनाव को चुनौती दी थी, जो एक वोट से जीते थे। पेरियाकरुप्पन ने आरोप लगाया था कि एक पोस्टल वोट गलत तरीके से भेजा और रद्द कर दिया गया था। जस्टिस जी के इलंथिरईयन ने सेथुपति की याचिका को स्वीकार करते हुए याचिका खारिज कर दी। सेथुपति को 83,375 वोट मिले, जबकि पेरियाकरुप्पन को 83,374 वोट मिले, जो बहुत कम अंतर से हार गए।
