Serious gaps in agricultural data collection have been flagged by the Statistics Ministry, impacting national food security. Official crop enumeration inspections were completed on time in less than half of villages, with outdated maps and untrained personnel conducting experiments in key states. These deficiencies hinder accurate policy interventions and advance estimates, posing a significant challenge for policymakers relying on timely and precise.
