Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has responded to a letter from Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, stating that a meeting to discuss pending cases would violate judicial ethics and the separation of powers. The CJI advised the opposition leaders to invoke the court's judicial powers under Article 32, rather than submitting a memorandum. He noted that the issues raised were similar to those scheduled for a hearing on October 13. Opposition leaders were informed they could file petitions physically or through e-filing.
