Supreme Court Clarifies No Decision Made On New Form 6

The Supreme Court has clarified that it has not made any decision regarding the new Form 6 in the SIR case. A bench, including CJI Suryakant and Justice Jaymala Bagchi, stated that the new Form 6 was not presented before the court when the Bihar SIR judgment was delivered in May 2026. Therefore, the court has neither approved nor rejected its validity, leaving its status pending further review. The court urged against misinterpreting its statements for news purposes.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने साफ़ किया है कि SIR मामले में नए फॉर्म 6 को लेकर कोई फैसला नहीं लिया गया है। सीजेआई सूर्यकांत और जस्टिस जयमाला बागची की बेंच ने कहा कि मई 2026 में बिहार SIR फैसले के समय नया फॉर्म 6 अदालत के सामने पेश नहीं किया गया था। इसलिए, अदालत ने न तो इसकी वैधता को मंज़ूरी दी है और न ही इसे खारिज किया है, इसकी स्थिति आगे की समीक्षा के लिए लंबित है। अदालत ने समाचार उद्देश्यों के लिए अपने बयानों की गलत व्याख्या न करने का आग्रह किया।
