Dowry Death Case: HC Rejects Mother-in-law's Plea

The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a mother-in-law's plea to quash proceedings against her in a dowry death case. The court stated that criminal proceedings can only be quashed if allegations do not disclose an offence. It noted that quashing would amount to a premature trial, which is impermissible. The case involves allegations of dowry demand and cruelty against the deceased, Pratibha Yadav, who died after being found unconscious at her matrimonial home. The court emphasized that the accused will have an opportunity to defend themselves during the trial.

दहेज हत्या मामला: हाईकोर्ट ने सास की याचिका खारिज की

इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने दहेज हत्या के मामले में अपनी सास के खिलाफ कार्यवाही रद्द करने की याचिका खारिज कर दी है। अदालत ने कहा कि आपराधिक कार्यवाही तभी रद्द की जा सकती है जब आरोपों से कोई अपराध साबित न हो। अदालत ने यह भी कहा कि कार्यवाही रद्द करना एक समय से पहले का मुकदमा होगा, जो स्वीकार्य नहीं है। इस मामले में मृतका, प्रतिभा यादव, पर दहेज की मांग और क्रूरता के आरोप हैं, जिनकी मृत्यु उनके ससुराल में बेहोश पाए जाने के बाद हुई थी। अदालत ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि आरोपियों को मुकदमे के दौरान अपना बचाव करने का मौका मिलेगा।
