A special Pocso court in Ghaziabad has sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 50,000 fine for raping his minor stepdaughter. The court ordered the fine money to be given to the victim for her rehabilitation. The prosecution successfully argued to correct the victim's age from 10 to 13 years during the trial. The court dismissed defence objections regarding FIR delay and lack of medical evidence, stating the victim's consistent statements and medical examination findings were sufficient for conviction.

गाजियाबाद की एक विशेष Pocso अदालत ने एक व्यक्ति को अपनी नाबालिग सौतेली बेटी से बलात्कार करने के आरोप में 20 साल की कठोर कारावास और 50,000 रुपये के जुर्माने की सजा सुनाई है। अदालत ने जुर्माने की रकम पीड़िता को उसके पुनर्वास के लिए देने का आदेश दिया। अभियोजन पक्ष ने मुकदमे के दौरान पीड़िता की उम्र 10 साल से बढ़ाकर 13 साल करने में सफलतापूर्वक दलील दी। अदालत ने FIR में देरी और मेडिकल सबूतों की कमी के संबंध में बचाव पक्ष की आपत्तियों को खारिज कर दिया, यह कहते हुए कि पीड़िता के लगातार बयानों और मेडिकल जांच के निष्कर्ष सजा के लिए पर्याप्त थे।
