Trichy's Ariyamangalam Dump Yard May Need Phase IV Biomining

Trichy Corporation has completed 35% of phase III biomining at the Ariyamangalam dump yard, a 47.7-acre site. Officials anticipate a fourth phase may be necessary to fully reclaim the land due to ongoing waste accumulation. While phase III will process a specific quantity of legacy waste, newly accumulated waste will still require scientific recycling. Approximately 150-200 tonnes of inert waste are sent to the yard daily from city compost centres. The corporation aims to transform the site into a comprehensive waste processing facility.
