Hindustan Times · politics

Elon Musk humorously acknowledged his election-interfering space lasers did not work after Democrats secured control of both the House and the Senate in the 2026 US midterm elections. NBC News projected Democrats flipped seven Senate seats and will win at least 252 House seats, also taking governorships in Texas, Georgia, Ohio, and Iowa. Musk reportedly spent approximately $250 million supporting Republican congressional campaigns. In response to the results, Musk posted on X, "Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time," adding that data centers in space were looking appealing.
