Delhi Jal Board Approves ₹17,970 Crore Sewer Project, Adopts 'One Zone-One Operator' Model

The Delhi Jal Board has approved a 10-year, ₹17,969.93 crore plan to overhaul the city's sewer network. This initiative will divide Delhi into eight zones, each managed by a single operator responsible for maintenance and complaint resolution under the 'One Zone-One Operator' model. The project includes 100% mechanical and robotic sewer cleaning, real-time monitoring via geo-tagged inspections, and performance-based payments for operators. Additionally, the board greenlit a ₹6,044 crore project for South Delhi's water supply and tenders for 13 new Sewage Treatment Plants to boost capacity.
