Uttarakhand Electoral Roll Sees Major Changes With Over 17 Lakh Names Deleted

Uttarakhand's electoral rolls have undergone significant revision, with over 17 lakh names deleted and approximately 4 lakh added between January 2025 and October 2026. This resulted in a net decrease of over 13 lakh voters, reducing the total electorate from 84.29 lakh to 71.58 lakh. The Election Commission of India has now directed a fresh enrollment drive to identify and include eligible voters who may have been left out. Special camps and a door-to-door campaign will be conducted to facilitate this process and ensure accurate voter lists.

उत्तराखंड की मतदाता सूची में बड़ा संशोधन हुआ है। जनवरी 2025 से अक्टूबर 2026 के बीच 17 लाख से ज़्यादा नाम हटाए गए और करीब 4 लाख नाम जोड़े गए। इससे कुल मतदाताओं की संख्या 13 लाख से ज़्यादा कम हो गई, जो 84.29 लाख से घटकर 71.58 लाख रह गई। अब Election Commission of India ने नए सिरे से नामांकन अभियान चलाने का निर्देश दिया है ताकि योग्य मतदाताओं की पहचान कर उन्हें सूची में शामिल किया जा सके। इस प्रक्रिया को आसान बनाने और सटीक मतदाता सूची सुनिश्चित करने के लिए विशेष कैंप और घर-घर जाकर अभियान चलाया जाएगा।
