India's Young Workforce Confident in AI, Lacks Formal Training

Hindustan Times · education

Indian Gen Z and millennials show high confidence and regular use of AI tools in the workplace, with 85% and 91% respectively feeling competent. However, formal AI training is significantly lacking, with only 32% of Gen Z and 35% of millennials completing structured courses. Much of their knowledge is self-taught through online resources and peer learning. Experts warn that while the AI talent pool is growing, demand outpaces supply, necessitating systemic, formal training pathways to bridge this gap effectively for all students.
