Indian Railways has implemented stringent new rules for parts supplied to trains to enhance safety and accountability. Following incidents of technical failures, it was discovered that many faulty parts lacked clear manufacturer identification or batch numbers, making it difficult to trace suppliers of substandard components. To address this, all train parts must now bear the manufacturer's name, code, serial number, batch number, and manufacturing date. The marking must adhere to RDSO standards for clarity and readability.
